Autobiographical narrative

I could not stop moving. I was anxious, excited, and nervous at the same time. I knew I had to show composure in these high pressure situations because my teammates looked up to me. I tried my best but it was my first championship game and my team and I were so far away from home. We were scheduled to play a team that was undefeated in Las Vegas. We were undefeated too so that didn’t impress us much. I played free safety and kick return at the time so I knew I would have ample opportunities to get the ball. I knew this game would be memorable for me for a long time.

I felt like a pro athlete for flying into a city with lots of screaming fans in my corner. We stayed at a hotel called Nevada Palace. I hardly got any sleep the night before before the game. I hung out in a teammates room and we talked about how we were going to shutdown the opposing teams offense. I knew I needed to get some sleep so I took a dose of Tylenol PM. It helped a little but not much. I was surrounded by friends and family who seemed so happy for us. I fell asleep around 10:30 Knowing tomorrow would be a highlight in my life. The next morning it was game time and I could tell my team was ready to play. We got to the locker room and strapped on our gear. As always before every game our coach said a few words to hype us up. All i could say was it worked.

Before we stepped on to the field to play we said a team prayer. After that the team got so energized our coaches had to rally the kick return team onto the field. Of course I was the first person lined up because the ball was coming to me. I caught the kick off and returned it 36 yards. It was a close game right until the very end. Both teams fought very hard but only one team can be the winner. We knew what was at stake coming into this game. It’s either win or go home and we all felt that we have worked too hard and came to far to go home empty handed.

The final seconds of the third quarter were winding down, and I could see my team getting tired. The score was all tied up at 26 to 26. I rallied my team and told them not to let up and keep playing with intensity. With my body covered in sweat and my arm in blood I felt my perfect season slipping away. We had to fight hard if we wanted to win. I dug deep down inside myself and got back into attack mode even though I felt like falling flat on my face. We had three minutes left in the game and things really started to get hard. Our defense was backed up into our own end zone with the enemy in scoring position.

It was third an goal so we anticipated that they were going to throw the ball. I had a hunch on who the quarterback was going to throw the ball to because he threw the ball to that receiver a lot that game. I cheated over to his side so slick the quarter must have not seen me because he tried to throw the ball to that receiver and I was right there to pick it off. As soon as I caught the interception I turned on the jets and headed toward the end zone. I was half way down the field when the player who was trying to chase me down dove at the back of my feet. I stumbled, but I did not fall down. I scored and man it felt so good.

We ended up winning by a touchdown thanks to our spectacular defense. The feeling was unexplainable to have my team hold me up after the game. I knew that a lot of why we won and why we even got to this game was teamwork and good coaching,but I felt like the star and no one was going to take that away from me. After the game I wanted to celebrate with just my teammates. I asked my grandmother if she could take me to the store and buy the team ten bottles of apple cider. She agreed when we got back I started to pop them like they were champagne. It was won of the greatest feeling I ever had. I was finally the best at something I love to do which is playing football.

Pursuasive Essay

Wouldn’t it be great to have a job at the age of fourteen. Here at San Pasqual Academy the work force partnership allows students to get jobs. When you get a job at SPA You have a couple of options to choose form. You can work at the Agriculture field as a farmer. You can work at the Cafe serving food, or you can work at the Dragons lounge selling junk food. It is always a good idea to get a job when your at Spa because you get a lot of benefits from it.

First of all you when you work at SPA you get paid minimum wage which for a teenager is pretty good. By getting paid you get to open up a bank account with our Financial Literacy department which is a huge benefit for you because when you leave here they double you have in your bank account. That’s a pretty sweet deal right? If you work at SPA and save a lot of money it makes life easier for you when you leave here. Getting a job at SPA can also help you stay out of trouble because it occupies some of your free time. Another benefit is learning social skills. If you don’t treat your co workers with respect and decency you probably wont have a job for very long.

Another big benefit from working at SPA is learning the steps you have to go through to get the job. Make no mistake, it’s no easy task. Before you are able to work you have to complete the work readiness stage. The work readiness program teaches you all the basics to getting a job. They teach you how to fill out the paper work, how to make your resume, how to present yourself in an interview. Basically they give you all the tools you need to get a job. By learning these tools It gives students on campus a little more confidence when they leave SPA because they have that Knowledge of how to get a job. You also learn a lot of independent living skills which is great for when you become an adult and live by yourself.

There are also some defaults on getting a job when your at SPA. A lot of times working at SPA can become overwhelming for students especially if they play sports. it’s hard to maintain having a job, going to school, and playing sports at the same time. Sometimes students get so rapped up in work and other activities they forget about studying and there grades drop. That is pretty much the only disadvantage to getting a job. That’s why it is also good to have an organized schedule and have good time management skills, and if you do there is no reason why you at shouldn’t be working.

By working at SPA you will earn money, learn Independent living skills, and time management skills. To make a long story short It is very beneficial to you and your future to get a job at SPA. It is a good idea to take advantage of these resources SPA gives you. I mean who doesn’t want to earn money and make connections with new people. It is a great opportunity for students that are trying to get there lives together. It is also a great experience for the students who have never thought worked before. I personally I like the portion of getting a job because I like buying myself nice things

“The Skull and the Arrow” Content Paragraph: In the Cave

If that were me I would done the same thing as the guy who got beat up,but just a litte differently. I would rest in the cave, get my health up and come back with a venegeance. I would have got a bunch of weapons and killed all of the guys who beat me up. I would confront my friends for letting me get severely beaten. After I killed the people who almost killed me I would probably move to new land and start a new life. I wouldn't want to stick around there because the guys I killed might have family who might try to kill me.

"Cranes" Theme Paragraph

The name of this story is "Cranes". The authors name is Hwang Sunwon. The story is about two friends who have not seen each other in a long time. The main character is Songsam. Songsam changes throughout the story when he see's his old friend Tokchae in the police station. Songsam volunteers to take Tokchae to the Ch'ongdan. As they walked Tokchae did not speak to songsam or even look at him. On there way they passed the field with the cranes were they use to play at and catch Cranes. Songsam offers to catch a crane with tokchae like they did when they were kids. I guess that was symbolism for I am going to let you go.

“The Most Dangerous Game” Plot Change

If I were in General Zaroff's shoes I would not have let rainsford go. His decision to let Rainsford to runn of was stupid. If you want to kill somebody you should do it when you have the chance. When rainsford came to my house I would have shot him in the head right then and there. If he would have went with my decision the story would have been much shoeter and less entertaining. General Zaroff started counting his chickens before they hatched. He thought Rainsford would be a easy kill, but instead he ended up getting killed by rainsford.

Symbolism in “The Skull and the Arrow” Underdog Paragraph

I remember My first year I ever played football.I was eight years old. I played pop-warner for a team called the eagles. I was so small back then when I stepped on the field opppents always laughed at me. I didn't consider myself an underdog because I live to play football no matter how big my opponents are. When i had my first game I was so anxious to get on the field and show everybody what I can do. I played linbacker at the time which was great for me because I liked to hit people. I was suprised  because my opponents underestimated me by running the ball to my side over and over again. It was fourth down and they had to get three yards if they wanted to  have a chance at tieing the game up. theypitched the ball to there halfback who of course tried to run directly into my zone.I got low and took his legs out. the referee signaled to the sideline that they came up sero and short of the first down. I felt like a hero and finally earned some respect.

I remember this one time when I was out to get revenge on one of my older brothers because he was bullying me. I was about five years old at the time. My brother anthony didn't bully me alot because I would get realy mad and want to fight him. I guess he decided it would be fun to scare me and make me cry. I was sitting in my room on my bed when all of a sudden Anthony runs inside and pulls my sheet off of my bed and raps me up in it. I know why but I was scared so I started crying. Anthony dragged me around the house in my sheet until finally one of my other older brother Andrew told him to let me go. I was so mad at all of my brothers but mostly anthony because he's the one that frightened me for his own amusement. I vowed to get him back even if I had to stay up all night. It was late at night and everybody was sleep including Anthony. I snuck to the kitchen and got a big pot of cold water. I tossed it on him and jumped back into bed.

My eyes are covered in dirt. I push to get this huge tree stump off of my broken body. I could hardely see anything with the dirt in my eyes and the darkness of night time. Luckily I had I remembered I saved some alcohol that was in my pocket.I tried to give some to Goerg, but he refused with a real disgusted look on his face. I drank the rest of my alcohol and suddenly I felt like we were mad at each other over something stupid. After we argued over whoes team would arrive first I decided to throw in the towel and give up. I told Goerg that I quit and that this fued should never be spoken of again. Goerg did agreed to be my external friend. Then we decide to call for help. We see figures and Goerg thinks they are his group because his group is smaller.I look and see whiskers with sharp teeth and red eyes . I tell Goerg the Figures are Wolves.

My best friend and were on the football feild playing a game against one of our rivals. At the time I was playing quarterback for my pop warner team. It was a play off game and I already ran for two touchdowns and through for two. My best friend was playing reciever but I didn't have any confidence in him because he dropped 4 of my passes in the first half. It was two minuates left in the game and we were down six points. I drove my team down the field with one last play to score a touch down. My best friend was wide open deep down the field and i had a wideopen lane to the endzone. Even though I didn't think he was going to catch the ball I through it to him anyway. surprisingly he caught the ball and we won.

Today alot of young people have fears of transfering into adulthood. I know alot of seniors on this campus who seem happy that there leaving, but you can tell how nervous they are, and they should be. They have to face the fact that there on their own and no ones going to baby them. They have more responsibilities then they have ever had in there whole entire life. Some of them have to worry about homelessness. Some have to worry about school, transportation, and jobs. Some even have to worry about there relationships with there girlfriend or boyfriend. Young people can prepare for these fears and conflict by constantly practicing their independent living skills.It would also help to start talking to people in high places and making alot of contacts so you have some resources.

Roger and I have some similarities and differences.In the story Roger tried to steal the an old ladies purse for a pair of jeans. Im not saying I would of tried to snatch an old ladies purse, but I would've got those jeans somehow. I probly would not have went to the ladies house though. It's nice and all for her to do that but I dont know you so why would I go to your house. Rogers most outstanding trait was his honesty and integrity inside the house. mrs. jones most outstanding trait was how she helped kids in need.

My Mothers braid.Before my mom went throuh kimo therapy She cut off two of her big braids. She gave one to me and my dad, an one to three of my brothers. The braid is important to me because it is a symbol of what my mom went through for me and my brothers. It is also a reminder for me when I am sad or mad. There is some truth to the saying “When the going gets tough, the tough get going. When faced with alot of adversity is when some people are at there best.That is how am. When my back is up against the wall and i have no room for error I come always come out on top. I think alot of this term for people relys on there mental touhgness.I use Kobe bryant For example, when the laker were loosing with three seconds left on the game clock, everybody started to panic. Then they inbounded the ball to kobe bryant and he hit one of many game winning shots. People are determined to succeed because of there character.

"Dog Star" Chronological Order of Flashback Paragraph

If the writer would not have used flashbacks I think the story would have been more effective. By adding flashbacks the writer is just making the story more stressful and confusing for the reader. Thats why I had trouble comprehending the story last night. for example when the narrirator flashed back to when he first got the puppy I lost track of what was happening in the story at the present time. I nmy opinion using chronological order in a story is better than using flashbacks because it keeps things simple and not so complicated. I would rather enjoy listening to a story than worrying about were I am at in the story. Flashbacks are better used in movies.

Cranes" Before You Read: Duty

If I had to choose between going AWOL with my best friend  and  taking a history final I would choose taking my final. The reason I wouldn't AWOL is because I learned my lesson about letting friends influence me to do stupid things. When I was younger I got in trouble for followings my friends footsteps all the time. My dad realy despised being a follower. I also wouldn't go because I wouldn't be able to take my friend to my house anyway. I would just end up abandining him. I refuse to be homeless again. Besides I am more impotant to myself than anybody else.

When I was a toddler I had this pit bull named co coa. That was my favorite dog ever. She was so smart and gentle. I loved her like she was one of my siblings. She always put a smile on my face. She must of loved me back because she never accidently bit me or got too agressive with me. Me and her had a special bond. The Sniper" Theme Paragraph

The stroy I read is called The Sniper. The author of this story is Liam O'Flaherty. The theme of this story is you dont know who your going to kill while your in war. The main character is the sniper, because the story never tells us his name. In the beging he is getting shot at and he didn't care who he shot and killed. Later He finds out that the other sniper he gunned down was his brother. The conflict he has is that the other sniper is shooting at him. He resolved the conflict by tricking the sniper by making him think he's dead . Then he kills the sniper. I don't know how this relates to our lives.

I cant say much about other people because every person is different . However I can tell you about one of my experiences as a example. I got chased by a pit bull, I was so scared. My favorite villain of all time hands down has to be Cruella Deville. Cruella almations Deville is from the movie 101 Dalmations. She is fascinating to me because she looks so wierd. Summer school plan

I am dedicated to passing summer school.  I will do all my work and finish all my assignments to the best of my abilities. I absolutely have to pass all my classes if I want to have a chance at graduating on time. That is my main goal. To obtain this goal I will have to concentrate and stay focused in class. Sometimes I am easily distracted,but that’s only because I have motivation to do the work. It is kind of hard to be motivated about summer school when you think about your friends that are having fun and enjoying their vacation.

SPA Prom 2011 or Free Write

Wow the 2011 Prom was really fun. It was my first Prom I have ever been to so I was really excited about it. The beach was so beautiful. I dont want to seem conceded or anything but I was looking very sexy. When I walked into the party I was kind of cautious because alot of people kept telling me that the Hotel was haunted. After my date and I finally settled down we got on the dance floor and started dancing. They served us some bomb roast beef and mashed patatoes. I devoured it with the quickness. I was happy to see Alicia Jammer at Prom. She is realy nice and very beautiful.

CST Testing Reflection

I felt like we as students at a big disadvantage because most of the material on the test we have not even learned yet because of all the teacher changes we have had this year. I fill like I did good. Well honestly I guessed on most of the questions because I didn't care. The reason why I didn't care is simply this We were not taught most of the things that were on the test so it's not fair for people to hold high expectations of us to do well. The answers that I were confident in I am sure I got them correct.

Testing Tips, Strategies, and Plays Reflection

Knowing tips, and strategies for test taking is a great advantage to have because it helps you in alot of ways. When you are prepared for the test it takes a little bit more pressure off you so your not so anxious. You kind of gain a little confidence going into the test which is good to have. I dont know how plays help you on test though. I think I will do fine on the test. I have alot of confidence in myself that I will pass the test and excede my own expectations. I will have to study though and thats not one of my strong points.

Feelings about the CAHSEE

I will be taking the CAHSEE test next year. To prepare for this test I will have to study hard and pay attention in class and do my own work instead of copying off people. I should also start refreshing my mind to all the material I should know. One way I could do that is by going over practice tests and correcting all my mistakes.

What It Means To Be a Sophmore

To me, being a sophmore means that I have became a more mature student from freshman year. It means that I am one step closer to getting my highschool diploma. That means that I am one step closer to my main goal and that is going to a university on a Athletic scholarship to play football.

It's been a pretty bad week for me over all. I have been on restriction the whole week for some stupid decisions that I made, but I have learned from them and I am ready to move on.I have a meeting with the principle coming up any day now. I wonder how thats going to turn out. Then I have another meeting coming up with Beth and Tia. Things just seem to be getting better and better for me. On the bright side I am looking forward to this weekend even though I am not going on pass. I have 100 dollars to blow.

Memorable Valentine's day

The most memorable Valentine's day of my lifetime surprisingly occured when I was in the 4th grade. I was going to Valencia Park elementary school. There was this girl named cherry who I liked. I despritely wanted her to be my valentine.She was so beatiful ,but I was afraid to ask her. Thats when I think I got realy conceded. I framed a picture of me and gave it to her. She said it was realy cute. That was all I needed to boost my confidence as soon as I heard the word cute come out her mouth I proceeded to ask her. She said she would love to be my valentine.

This shows that the author is expressing his love for somebody. The author also says love is all he has to give which could also mean alot.

"Remember" Homework paragraph

Lines 19-22 are; difficult to understand. These statements are not logical because we as humans do make up a very large portion of the universe. We plant seeds, fruits, vegetables etc… we help the world grow as we do the same. Another reason I agree with lines 19-22 is because what humans do on earth can impact the universe drastically. My final example is The laws set by our constitution, because if there were no laws the world would be all crazy. I agree with the two statements being logical. At first I didn’t understand the poem but now it makes total sense.

When I attended SCPA I liked this girl named Vanessa. She always hung out with her little group of girlfriends Who I didn't like. She always said she liked guys with long hair, an at that time I had a fade. So I decided to change my appearence and grow my hair out. I felt that if My hair aws long then she would realy be attracted to me. She also said she was attracted to jewerly so, the very next day I brought a sixty dollar grill from Mario's. It was very shiny and yet she still went out with somebody else. I felt so stupid.

The song I chose to represent the imagery in my life is "Successful" by Drake. Every time I listen to this song I visualize my dream of going to the NFL. Ever since I was a toddler I always new I wanted to play Pro football. Another Image I get from this song is my salary when I graduate and get my Degree because successful to me is when I am making high sums of money off of my education. It is also apeeling to me that Drake expresses his desire for cars, clothes, and women which is what I see in my future as well when I listen to this song. When I hear this song I feel the sense of assurement that I will succeed.

Dream House Paragraph with Imagery

My Dream House would be a mantion. I would see chandlers and leathers couches. I would taste smart water, apple cider, and gatorade. Everything feels great. Especially all my  trophies, and my game balls. I smell all my victories and success. I hear all my screaming fans in the stadium getting excited every time I touched the football. Third Quarter goals Reflection

My goals for the third Quarter are to get my grades up at least to a 2.7 GPA. To obtain this goal I have been turning in most of my assignments in most of my classes. I have been trying to study for my tests because my test scores are whats been hurting me   more than anything else. I am still getting low scores on my tests so I need to find a different way to study. I also need to improve on my note taking to make my studting less stressful. At the end of the Quarter I expect to feel good about the hard work I put in to achieve my third Quarter goals. I will also feel relieved from people telling me you cant play sports if you dont have the grades.

"Animal Farm" Character's symbolic meaning paragraph

In the story “Animal Farm” by George Orwell, the character old Major represents wisdom. For example Old Major Gives a motivational speech to all his fellow animal friends that starts a revolution.Old major wanted equal rights for all animals and was the only animal on the farm to think of having a revolution.All the other farm animals agreed that all animals should be treated equally.Theres not really much else to say about Old major besides him getting shot by a Ricocheted bullet from farmer Jones rifle.All the animals remembered him after he died.

I hated the story it was so stupid to me. I couldn't believe old major got popped in the first scene. Surprisingly thats the only idea that I could use to compare to our world. That was like malcom X getting shot, because he wanted to change his world for his people, so was old major. Even though most stories about animals are for children, This story was not. A pig started a revolution and got shot. That is so inapropriate for little kids. I dout they would even understand what the story was about.

The first thing that the kids would do to have a revolution is overthrow the staff. There would be no curfew. We would establish our own eduacational system that would teach us the material we need to know without being so boring. Spa would definitely have a higher population due to the new rules. There would be way more freedom but you would have to keep your grades up to stay enrolled here. On the flip side there would be a huge amount of bad things going on. there would probably be fights everyday. People will most likely be doing drugs. There would also be a lot of inapropriate interactions going on around campus.

San Pasqual academy dragons symbolism

The school mascot for San Pasqual Academy is the dragon. I don't know why they chose this mascot for our school but I would guess it's because we are strong and and powerful individuals. A dragon is strong, powerful, and explosive. It feels so great to be a San Pasqual Academy Dragon.I wouldn't want to go to any other school because I love this school too much. Not to mention I have the best teacher in the world named Ms.Priester. She's the best teacher in the world and she has the best teachers assistant. Spa is so great I don't know why anyone would want to leave.

When I first entered the foster care system I didn't care about anyone. I was angry at the world and on a destructive path that surprisingly inspired me to make my life how I want it. When I first started to settle down Things started to look up for me. I knew school was the best option for me but I still continued to cut classes. I set some little goals for myself and worked on achieving them taking it one day at a time. There were days when I would say to myself I didn't ask for this life, bouncing from group home to group home. Thats when I would throw on my hood and hit the street. Now since I've been in the system for a while now I am more laid back and focused on my future.

I agree with Jerry's idea because if you to want achieve something you have to work hard and dedicate youself to the goal you have. Even though I dont agree with what he did I have to say his actions and efforts made the risk he took convincing. It shows that he's growing up and wants to accomplish something. Nobody was going to stop jerry from reaching his goal because he was determined to go through the tunnel. I still think he could of taken another approach or thought up a smater plan because he put himself in danger .

When I was eight years old I began my first year of football. I was very excited and could hardly wait to put on my pads. The first day of conditioning was the toughest for me because I was still breaking in my helmet so I was running up big hills with a huge migraine. I through up the first day we ran, because I ate a California burrito before practice. I knew I was the best player on the team but our running back was the coaches son. I had to work hard in the practice so the team and the coaching staff would know I was better.

The Lakers symbolizes our house which is Boys 3. To most people, this item is just a famous basketball team. To us, it represents our house and our relationship because the bonding they have is more than what it looks like. In the NBA it is more than just a team to them and is S.P.A. our house is more than just a house to us. Like the Lakers our house is a family. Also, like the NBA, players get traded and students might trade house but we still try to stay close and stay as a family. That is why our house is just like the Lakers.

Third Quarter Goals

My biggest accomplishment from 2010 was getting decent grades so I could play football.I admitted I needed help so I studied with a tutor. I pulled out a 2.5 and played for SPA. My goal for this quarter is to get higher than a 3.0 and stay out of trouble. The things I need to do to achieve this goal are, do my homework,pay attention in class, and hangout with the right people.

Winter Break Narrative

Winter Break Narrative It was Christmas night and my 3 older brothers from New York flew in from Brooklyn. I was so excited because I hadn’t seen them since November of 2009. I was pumped with emotion and could barely wait to see them. I knew they looked different because I remember them as my best friends who would do anything for me. Now there grown paying there own bills getting there degree’s and partying. At least some of them were. My oldest brother is Andrew, who is 23, my second oldest brother is Kevin who has been my role model for years is 21, then there’s Anthony my third oldest brother who bullied me when I was little. My dad drops me off at the Holidays Inn and walks into lobby with me. I then drop my bags on the floor and ran to all 3 of them. My dad came up to the room with us and talked as we waited. They had a whole different swag from the east coast which I thought was kind of silly. I couldn’t help but laugh when Anthony showed me his dougie. My dad then took off to go to a meeting. We all of a sudden hear a Knock on the door. It was my little brother Gregory who was dropped off by his dad. We then headed to Plaza Bonita mall to go to the movies. As we payed for the tickets I saw this girl who I liked in elementary school. She was growing and looked so beautiful. Her name was Brawnisha Johnson. As soon as I told Anthony I was going to talk to her he told me were late for the movie she will be out here when our movies over. I hesitated and said no she won’t. Gregory then hugged me and pulled me into the movie. I sat there wondering and anticipating if I would see her again. I came to a decision that I wasn’t since Gregory told me to forget about her. I gave up looking for her. We went out to eat after words and I could not believe Brawnisha was sittings right next to our table. That’s when we started talking and had a wonderful dinner.
